Start the program
to
start the program, just click on the Tuulimaa icon. This screen should
appear.

Click on “project” and then
on “New”
 
The “save as” dialog box will
appear and then you will have to enter the project name
Type the
project name in this box and then press « Save”
the project name can be “mywebsite”
|

Now your project is created and the main screen of the software will
appear.
   
First, fill
the fields with a red star, they are required.
If you move the mouse over a field, you will get a description.

|
Creation
of albums
In the program, consider an album as a category.
On this sample, the albums are some countries, but in your case it could be “self
portraits”, “nature” ….
You will see later that it’s also possible to display a thumbnail picture for
each album.
Now enter
the album name using the keyboard, and then press enter
|

To create an album, make a right click on the project root and click on “new
album”
|
|
The album
page name is something important. When the software will generate the web
site, it will use this to name the web pages. This name will appear
several times as a link in some other pages, so it’s important also for
search engines to have a descriptive name.

Edit album
properties
Now your album has been created, in our sample it’s Mali.
On the right pane, you can see some properties for this album.
So you can create several albums like that. Don’t worry now about the contact
page, it will be added automatically when the site will be build.

Adding photos
to albums
Now that some of albums are created (note that you can create albums at
anytime), you have to add photos.
To do that, there is 2 different ways:
If you are familiar with “drag & drop” notion, then you just need to drop
your photos on the selected album.
Else, make a right click on the album name in the tree and click on “Insert photos”
Select the photos you want to insert ( you can add several photos at once )
and click on « open »
Note: The file formats for the photos are: JPEG, BMP, PNG or TIFF
You can add directly the source file of your photos. The program will keep a
link on them and they will never been modified.

The photo
properties
If you click on a photo name in the tree, you will see some properties for
the picture on the right pane.
You have to set the photo title, if the title can’t be extracted from EXIF
info (if you use Picassa, you can define a title for the picture), the file
name will be displayed.
The photo notes are optional, but you can write a comment about the photo. Note
that this will be used to make your web site more visible to search engines.
Tick “display in albums list” option if you want display this picture for the
album in the index page.

Build the
site
Now you know how to add albums and put some photos in your albums. The next
step is to build the website. To do that, click on the “Build” menu.
Then on the right panel, click on the « build now » button.

When the build is done, you can click on “Open with internet navigator” to
view your website exactly like it will be online.
|
|
Customisations
By default, the site will be generated using the default settings, but you
can change many settings to adjust the result to your wishes.
Most simple settings are on the project main page, like the colours and the
font name.
Other settings are located in “Build” Menu, in “Advanced settings”
